Tate Bishop was looking for a solid day aboard his RKT Kosmic machine at this past weekend’s wet and cold Killarney Regional race day. During a wet morning’s qualifying, Tate couldn’t quite manage to string the perfect lap together which saw him starting the first race from the 3rd row and an uphill battle lay ahead.

Race 1 however, was awesome. Tate showed some amazing race pace to climb his way through the field as he made his way past Kai van Zijl and Charl Visser to finish in third. In race 2, Tate got off to a good start before an epic battle with Kai van Zijl followed. The two put on a great show for the freezing crowds and it was Tate who emerged to take a second P3 in as many races.

Race 3, in fact, was even more amazing. Having had an uphill battle all day, Tate continued to rise to the occasion. Even after being knocked down the order to P5 at the start, he fought back superbly to find his way up to second whilst also registering the fastest lap of the race. After a tough start to the day, a quite inspiring comeback to tie second overall on points for the day with Charl Visser.
Tate is back in action in just under 2 weeks time for the penultimate round of the Regional Championship, just 2 weeks before he heads north for the Grand Finale of the South African National Rotax Championship and then on to South Garda, Lenato in Italy to represent South Africa in the Rok World Finals.
