Great Performance From Bishop at 5th Regional
A cold winters morning at Killarney turned into a fantastic days racing which saw Tate Bishop competing in 2 classes. His standard Maxterino duties plus the all new Rotax Mini Max class. A total of 6 races and a sound performance from the young lad.
In Maxterino, Tate put his 94 kart on the front row of the grid with a no less than perfect lap. Unfortunately this lead to a not so great 1st heat with Tate crossing the line in 5th after some first lap troubles. Heat 2 was business as usual with Tate coming home in 3rd a mere 2 tenths behind race winner Charl Visser. In the final heat of the day Tate earned himself another well deserved podium to end the 5th round of the WP Maxterino Championship with a 3rd overall for the day.
In the all new Mini Max Class, things where somewhat up and down. A world class performance in qualifying ensured Tate started heat 1 on pole position. A great effort considering what little time Tate has spent with this new Rotax engine unit. Some minor issues in the first race didn’t help as Tate crossed the line in 4th but this didn’t hold the young star back as he drove his socks off to a well deserved 2nd in race 2. A final race of the day 4th saw Tate take home a 4th overall for the day and end a solid start to this exciting new series.
