BISHOP DELIVERS GRAND PERFORMANCE AT VEREENIGING
Young Tate Bishop showed some serious pace and determination to come away with some well earner silverware.
Gauteng’s karters braced themselves not only for the midwinter Vereeniging cold, but also for a full-on attack from their Cape rivals at Saturday’s ‘Pre National’ fourth Northern Regions Kart Championship. A mild Highveld day saw Tate Bishop deliver some fantastic drives to come away with a well earned second overall in what would be describes as the perfect warm up to the final round of the South African Maxterino Championship in two weeks time.
Early morning qualifying saw Bishop put his 94 Kosmic machine fifth on the grid with a sound 54.401 followed by a sound drive in the 1st race of the day to cross the line in 4th place. But it was all about race 2 and 3 for young Tate. In race 2 Tate showed maturity beyond his years to hold off the attack from those behind and come home in second place behind local lad Kwanda Moekoena and race 3 saw a fight to the end with the top 4 drivers separated by less half a second. Tate crossed the finish line in a terrific 3rd place to take 2nd overall on the day and set himself up beautifully for the National.
The Tate Bishop Racing Team commented saying, “We are super proud of Tate. After a difficult start to the weekend we came away with some superb results”.
